Study of the effect of an electric field and catalysts on hydrophobic properties of soot formed in propane – air flame
Abstract
The paper represents the results of the study of external influences on the hydrophobic properties of soot forming in propane - air flame. It was established that and electric field and catalysts positively affect hydrophobic properties of the obtained soot. It was determined that application of an electric field and a catalyst on the flame led to the formation of a soot having superhydrophobic properties, i.e. wetting angle was 152-153°. The positive influence of an electric field and catalysts on hydrophobic properties of obtained soot can be explained by the presence of nanosferical structures and their close proximity from each other. To establish a structure of the obtained sample, it was studied by physical chemical methods (Raman spectroscopy, electron microscopy).
